Tuna Salad with Mayonnaise

Tuna salad recipe it is easy to prepare. Ready in just 20 minutes, this salad can be stored in the refrigerator for a few days and can be eaten at any time of the day.

This salad is a delicious and healthy fish-based appetizer that can be prepared in many ways: with or without mayonnaise, green or dried onions, fresh or pickled vegetables, boiled eggs, green apple or mango (for those who love exotic tastes). It can be served as a sandwich with slices of wholemeal bread, lettuce and tomato slices, with baguette or Arabic pita.

We usually prepare it from tuna preserved in oil or water as an oriental salad with tuna. It can also be prepared with fresh tuna, which we fry first on the pan or on the grill. I chose to prepare the classic tuna salad, with canned tuna and homemade mayonnaise.

Tuna salad with pickles

A salad that does not require any preparation or who knows what sophisticated presentation. I guess you never lack the necessary ingredients in the house. And if they are missing, you brought them in 5 minutes from "Alimentara" in the corner.

What do you need?

  • 1 can of tuna pieces in oil
  • 2 boiled potatoes (can also be recovered from soup)
  • 3 pickles
  • 4 cloves green onions
  • 5 red olives
  • 6 green olives
  • a pinch of salt
  • a “multicultural” pepper powder (white, black, red and green)
  • a chilli powder (more for color)
  • 2-3 tablespoons of mayonnaise sauce with garlic.

How do you proceed?

  • If you do not have potatoes recovered from the soup, you can boil two potatoes, which you cut into 1.5 cm cubes after they have cooled.
  • Drain the canned oil well
  • Wash the pickled cucumbers, cut them into thin slices and let them drain well if you do not have time to waste, squeeze them in your fist
  • Wash the onion and cut it into small rings
  • Mix potatoes, cucumbers, onions, add mayonnaise sauce, season with salt and pepper
  • At the end, incorporate the tuna pieces carefully, so as not to crush them, add the olives and garnish with a little chilli powder, freshly ground pepper and green onion rings.

If you can't find ready-made garlic mayonnaise sauce, you can prepare your own mayonnaise in which you incorporate 2 - 3 cleaned and crushed garlic cloves in the press at the end. If you think the mayonnaise is too "heavy" you can replace it with a garlic yogurt sauce, prepared like here.

Have fun and see you healthy again!

Classic recipe mayonnaise

E o quick recipe, ready in 10 minutes, it takes longer to boil eggs than mixing mayonnaise & # 128578.

Lately I've been making the avocado mayonnaise recipe, but I was craving the classic recipe, so I made and write the recipe & # 128578

The origin of this sauce is uncertain, it is not known who created the original recipe. There are still 3 versions:

  1. Some believe that the name mayonnaise (mayonnaise in Catalan) comes from the Spanish town of Mao (Mahon in Castilian), from the island of Menorca. This island prepares a sauce similar to today's mayonnaise, called "salsa mahonese" and which later became mayonnaise.
  2. Others claim that the name & bdquosauce Mayonnaise & rdquo comes from the name of Charles of Lorraine, Duke of Mayenne.
  3. There is also a reference to the French city of Bayonne and it is believed that & bdquomayonnaise & rdquo comes from & bdquobayonnaise & rdquo. (Source: Wikipedia)
